Welcome to La Huerta

From Offlinecity I believe that taking action through architecture is fundamental, getting the citizens involved in the transformation and design of the spaces they daily use and live in. That’s just what we did in ‘Welcome to la huerta’, where we encouraged all the residents to take part in the design of a new public space, a future leisure-oriented orchard, in a small village from the north of Valencia.

We organized a participative dynamic in which we sought, through a public exhibition and diverse games, to convey the importance of the history, landscape and ecology of the Valencian orchard land to the citizens, show them the designs and, above all, know how they prefer to live and develop their activities in that place. This way we converted their claims and desires into concrete technical solutions to their needs.
