BRIEF_After the Spanish property bubble and the growing of urban areas we saw how many of our towns began to develop large areas of countryside that haven’t still been used. We only see roads and solitaire. In this context, the City Council of El Puig proposes a possible intervention to give some sense and use to this excessive amount of roundabouts during some time.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

CONCEPT_We traditionally see roundabouts as residual spaces that host the artwork of ‘reputable’ artists of public sculpture. In this case, the roundabout is a space stolen from the orchard land that must be returned. With this idea, the project suggests the conversion of each roundabout into a leisure-oriented orchards for the residents, who will be involved in several activities related to organic farming. This work aims to become a living memory of what should never be.
