LANDSCAPE ITINERARY "LA POBLA AL MAR"

BRIEF_In November 2012 I was selected for an internship to work on a landscaping project in La Pobla de Farnals. This town is only 5 km away from the coast, yet it is deeply disconnected if you want to reach the beach on foot or by bicycle, which can be even dangerous. The objective of my project was designing a cycle and walk path that would be built alongside the existing roadway.

CONCEPT_In contrast to the traditional idea of infrastructure to solve this sort of problems, I believe in another kind of intervention, more appropriate for our current economic situation and more environmentally responsible. The project proposes to recover existing rural paths which, properly marked and signposted, configure a route around the orchard land with a high landscape value and brings the traditional citizen-land interaction back.It is a "light infrastructure", developed with very little ecological and economic impact, but with a very positive social and economic repercussion.
